Family and Community Engagement
Research confirms that family engagement promotes student success. The National PTA website states, "Students with involved parents are more likely to earn higher grades, pass their classes, attend school regularly, have better social skills, and go on to postsecondary education."

We take our parent and community engagement very seriously at Lake Elementary. There's not a day that goes by that one won't see a parent and/or grandparent on campus volunteering in classrooms. This fact is one we are very proud of and continue to support. In June 2016, our school was awarded the Gold Ribbon award based on our positive school culture which embodies high community involvement. Yet like most schools, we know we can always do better.

Our annual LCAP identifies action steps tied to goals and measurable outcomes that helps us stay focused on our progress with parent and community engagement. One of our action steps is to measure our progress in parent and community engagement. By completing the Family and Community Engagement Survey, you are providing us valuable feedback that will assist us in continuing to provide a positive school culture.

Results from this survey will be reported to the Governing Board and included in California's Data Dashboard that is slated for launch in March 2017.
