CAASPPSoon, we will be sending home 2017 CAASPP Score Reports for students in grades 3-8 who took the 2017 Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments (SBAC). The assessments, which are delivered by computer, consist of two sections: a computer-adaptive test and a Performance Task (PT) based on the California State Standards for English language arts/literacy and mathematics. The computer-adaptive section includes a range of items types such as selected response, constructed response, table, fill-in, graphing, etc. The PT are extended activities that measure a student’s ability to integrate knowledge and skills across multiple standards—a key component of college and career readiness.

At Lake Elementary, test results are just one way to look at how well our students are doing. We use the results to find areas which students need help in the next school year, as well as feedback on instruction.

After you receive and review your child's score report, feel free to contact the school with any questions you might have regarding the report.

In addition, the California Department of Education (CDE) has many resources available for parents regarding the score report, including this 5-minute video. Check it out or go to their CAASPP website
